First pre-published in black and white in Le Petit Vingtième under the title Les Aventures de Tintin, reporter, en Extrême-Orient, Le Lotus bleu will appear in 124 pages by Casterman editions in 1936. Considered by all specialists as the first masterpiece Hergé's work in terms of both the script and the graphics and the documentary, this adventure also seals the friendship of its author with the sculptor Tchang Tchong-Jen and, beyond that, his desire to open up to difference and to feed on it. It is this version that we propose to rediscover here in a palette of new colours whose nuances particularly enhance the night scenes, thus revealing the intensity of the action and the beauty of the vignettes. This adaptation is preceded by a preface by the hergeologist Philippe Goddin.
